Two spaces, one garden
Verdant hosts events both indoors and out, with the option to take over the restaurant, the garden-side lapa, or both, kitchen teas, milestone birthdays, and weddings alike have all found a home here. We also host the annual Klerksdorp Boekefees, with food stalls and bar stations set up across the grounds for the weekend, so we know how to handle a crowd as easily as an intimate sit-down dinner.
The Lapa
Our garden-side lapa seats up to 50 guests, with daytime, after-hours, and full-day hire windows available.

Our indoor venue space seats up to 100 guests, with daytime, after-hours, and full-day hire windows available.

Our Story
Where dining, events, and gardening all trace back to one garden.

The Concept
Verdant began as a nursery and grew, quite literally, into something more. What started as a place to buy plants slowly became a place to sit among them, and then a place to eat, gather, and celebrate among them too. The name has always suited us: verdant, for the bright green of a well-tended garden, which is exactly what we set out to be a small part of in Klerksdorp.

How it came to be
Long before there was a nursery, there was a landscaping business, years spent designing and planting gardens for other people, one property at a time. Somewhere along the way, home stopped being able to hold all of it. Cuttings, seedlings, and spare stock piled up faster than any one garden could use, until the obvious answer became impossible to ignore: open a proper nursery, sell what didn't fit at home, and keep doing the landscaping work on the side. That nursery found its stride, and it wasn't long before customers wandering the rows of plants started asking for somewhere to sit down. A small coffee shop followed, tucked in among the greenery. The coffee shop found its own following, and a bar came next, built to match. Then the bar needed a kitchen behind it worth the name, and the kitchen grew into a full restaurant. Every stage came from the same instinct: notice what the space wants to become next, and build it properly. The kitchen expanded. The restaurant grew alongside it. New buildings went up as the old ones filled. And somewhere in that steady expansion, Verdant stopped being just a nursery with a coffee shop attached, and became a destination in its own right, for a meal, a coffee, a wedding, or an afternoon with nothing planned at all.
